Thru Johnson City to Lake Travis then Marble Falls

In search of good curvy roads, we found another in FM-2769 and Lime Creek Road.  We rode it Monday, January 9, 2017, and it did have light traffic, but I suspect traffic would be heavier on weekends.  This road is pretty far from Fredericksburg, our home base, so we will probably only ride this route one more time before we head to our next home base. The detailed route, a total of 195 mi, is shown below:

Right onto US-290 E/ E Main St in Fredericksburg.  Go 28.5 mi to Johnson City.

Right onto US-281 S/ US-290 E.  Go 0.2 mi.

Left onto RM-2766/ Robinson Road.  Go 9.2 mi to stop sign/ blinking light.

Right onto RR-3232 S.  Go 9  mi.

Left onto W Hwy-290.  Go 9.4 mi to Thyme and Dough restaurant for lunch.

(This is a whole grain bakery that sells good deli sandwiches, teas coffee and pastries.  The address is 333 W Hwy 290, Dripping Springs, TX, 78620, open Mon – Fri 6:30 am – 3 pm)

After lunch, go another 1000 ft then Left onto RR-12 N/ Loop 64.  Go 7.5 mi to stop sign.

Right onto Hamilton Pool Rd/ RR-3238.  Go 6.7 mi.

Cross over TX-71 at soplight and road turns into Bee Cave Parkway.  Go 1.1 mi.

Use left two lanes to turn left onto RR-620.  Go 16.2 mi.  (There will be lots of traffic and stoplights on this road. There will be plenty of gas stations and restaurants on this road since it is on the west side of Austin.)

Left at stoplight onto Anderson Mill Rd/ RM-2769.  Go 1.0 mi.

Left onto FM-2769 at stoplight.  Go 6.4 mi.

Right onto Lime Creek Rd in Volente.  (FM-2769 dead ends so riders must turn right to avoid riding onto a “No outlet” road.) Go 8.8 mi.

Left onto RR-1431/ W Whitestone Blvd.  Go 36 mi to Marble Falls.

Left onto US-281.  go 23 mi to Johnson City.

Right onto TX-356 Spur. Go 1.0 mi to US-290 W or continue on to US-290 W if you miss the spur.

Right onto US-290 W/ W Main St, Johnson City.  Go 28 mi back to Fredericksburg.
